Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 7, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how the RunRay application (“RunRay”, “the App”, “we”, “us”) handles information when you use it. RunRay is a client application built on top of the open-source Xray-core engine. It connects to proxy servers that you configure yourself; RunRay does not operate any VPN or proxy servers.

1. Information we do NOT collect

  • We do not require you to create an account.
  • We do not collect your name, email address, phone number or any other personal identifiers.
  • We do not log, store or transmit your browsing history, DNS queries or the content of your network traffic.
  • We do not sell or share any data with advertisers or data brokers.

2. Information stored locally on your device

To operate, RunRay stores the following data only on your device:

  • The server configurations you add (URLs, subscription links, QR-imported profiles, transport settings).
  • Application preferences (UI theme, selected server, routing rules, split-tunnel choices).
  • Local connection statistics (e.g. bytes sent/received, current ping) shown in the UI.

This data never leaves your device. You can erase it at any time by clearing the app data or uninstalling RunRay.

3. Network traffic

When you connect through RunRay, your network traffic is routed through the proxy server you have configured, in accordance with the Xray-core protocol you selected (VLESS, Shadowsocks, Trojan or VMess). RunRay itself does not see, decrypt or retain the contents of that traffic. The operator of the proxy server you connect to may have its own logging practices, which are outside of our control. Please review the privacy policy of your proxy/VPN provider separately.

4. Diagnostic information

RunRay may write technical logs locally on your device (for example connection errors) to help you troubleshoot problems. These logs stay on your device and are never sent to us automatically. If you choose to share a log file with us for support, it is processed only for that request and deleted afterwards.

5. Third-party services

RunRay does not embed third-party analytics, advertising or tracking SDKs. If a future build includes any optional crash-reporting service, you will be informed before it is enabled and you will be able to opt out.

6. Children’s privacy

RunRay is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect any information from children.

7. Security

RunRay relies on the cryptographic primitives provided by Xray-core (TLS 1.3, REALITY, XTLS-Vision, AEAD ciphers, etc.). However, no system is perfectly secure. You are responsible for keeping your device, operating system and server credentials secure.

8. Your rights

Because we do not collect personal data on our servers, there is generally nothing for us to delete on your behalf. All locally stored configuration and statistics can be removed by you at any time from within the app or by uninstalling it.

9. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page reflects when the latest revision was published. Continued use of RunRay after a change indicates acceptance of the revised Policy.
